Restoring compassion to our criminal justice system.
As a judge, my guide and my goal will always be the pursuit of justice and equity for all who come before the court.
In our community, we so often see violence and crime. We feel its impact deeply today—but it does not have to be a part of our tomorrow. We must work together compassionately while using the resources available to our community.
I believe the criminal justice system should not be a revolving door for punishment. In fact, it should be an opportunity to provide a second chance towards success.
We can all do more to serve our neighbors, and I will always strive to meet that challenge. Having served on both sides of the courtroom, whether in defense of the innocent or on behalf of the people, I know what equity and fairness look like.
We can all do more to serve our neighbors. I believe the criminal justice system should not be a revolving door for punishment. In fact, it should be an opportunity to provide a second chance towards success.
